The use of polycarbonate in lighting equipment
Polycarbonate profiles in lighting engineering are produced by extrusion and coextrusion or, in other words, multiextrusion. These technologies make it possible to obtain any kind of geometric solutions for the cross section of the profile, to obtain the required length of the profile and to realize any requirements for physical and consumer characteristics, i.e. produce products that will satisfy the pressing needs of the modern lighting market. Profiles for lighting from polycarbonate have a number of unique properties: high impact resistance, fire safety and durability, which distinguish them from the area of the other polymer profiles by the price-quality ratio. High lighting and physical and chemical properties of polycarbonate profiles allow using them as diffusers for luminaires and floodlights for different purposes for operation in the water and air environment both indoors and outdoors and in the harshest climatic conditions.
Products made of polycarbonate are available in transparent (colorless and color) and light-diffusing designs (from translucent to white "opal") for the organization of linear, point and uniformly distributed lighting.
