LED lighting is gaining popularity in recent times due to its economy, durability of operation, small size, safety of use, low heat generation and good spectral characteristics.
LED strip (LED ruler, LED tape) is a flexible tape, on which LEDs are placed at a distance from each other. To limit the current flow, resistors are soldered on the LED strip.
LED tube (linear LED module using a polycarbonate tube) is a linear light device that is a sealed housing made of a transparent polycarbonate tube with a built-in LED strip. LED tube is one of the simplest and most reliable solutions for architectural and interior lighting, which is widely used today. In the light tubes can be used full-color or monochrome (monochrome) LED rulers with protective varnish. Possible colors of LEDs: white, blue, green, amber, orange, red.
Sealed LED tubes made of UV stabilized polycarbonate provide:
high degree of protection against penetration of dust, moisture;
high resistance to aggressive environmental influences (rain, snow, ice, air pollution, ultraviolet rays);
immutability of physical properties during operation;
high impact resistance;
fire safety;
convenience of installing a light device;
ease of maintenance (if contamination occurs, the device can be washed using a sponge and soap solution).
Installation of modules from the LED tubes to a horizontal or vertical surface can be carried out using clips, remote brackets, double-sided tape, and can also be mounted in a special groove of the aluminum cover. Rotating the tube in the clip or bracket, you can direct the backlight up or down. By mounting light lines from the shortened modules and, if necessary, bending them, it is possible to create smooth bends of the LED ribbon lighting. Thus, the polycarbonate profile-tube can be attached to the surface with any complex configuration, which makes it possible to carry out a wide variety of effective lighting projects. Since the polycarbonate tube itself acts as an anti-vandal protective housing for LED lines, LED modules are also used for lighting inside a wide variety of premises and for lighting outdoors.
The durability of LED tubes depends on:
quality of LEDs;
the quality of LED soldering on flexible tape;
the degree of sealing of the ends of the polycarbonate tube;
presence of a protective lacquer layer of LEDs (additional protection against the possible formation of condensation due to the difference in temperature of the outside air and air inside the tube).
Polycarbonate tubes can be one- and two-section. The internal partition in the two-section polycarbonate profile contributes to the qualitative installation of modern LED rulers. The surface of the baffle of the two-section tube has longitudinal risks that contribute to the dispersion of light emanating from the LEDs, which ensures a more even glow of the LED ruler as compared to single-section polycarbonate tubes.
