1- Material

 

Choosing the right profile material according to its application is the first step that needs to be taken. It is very important to evaluate and analyze the factors that can and will influence the material during its service life. Transparency, thermal and mechanical resistance are the most obvious factors. But there are also other factors, not so obvious and noticeable at first glance, but which must be taken into account. For example, insufficient resistance to ultraviolet radiation, solar or fluorescent light can degrade the properties of the material in a few months, depending on the conditions of use. Also, other imperceptible, non-obvious properties, such as chemical resistance, are often ignored. If there is a presence of chemically aggressive elements such as lacquers of LED modules in a closed pipe or diffuser, this can cause the destruction of the profile in a few days or weeks. The presence of PVC cables, salts or acids is also an important factor that requires consideration and selection of the appropriate material. Often it is necessary to use more expensive polymers. Therefore, we require our customers to clearly understand and determine the conditions under which the product will be used, and this can also be done by customers of our customers. For this, first of all, before the design / development of the profile drawing, contact should be established between the customer's technical department and our materials department.

 

2- Dimensions / Tolerances

 

Qualitative profile design and reliable production allows us to manufacture products with exact sizes and tolerances, guarantees customers the conformity of finished products to their drawings. This is an important factor that allows our customers to clearly plan the time to develop a new profile and often offers the best price-quality ratio for the profile and for the extrusion tool.

When our customers develop a product in which profiles will be used, Polinter aims to get to know / participate in the development process in order to offer the best profile option that is easier and easier to use in the finished product. Often the development of a plastic profile begins at the last steps of product design. This can lead to the need to use a complex profile in the production, which will require tolerances that will be difficult to guarantee. Therefore, in the joint development of the profile at an early stage of product design, based on our past experience, a cheaper product can be used.

 

3- Packing

 

This point is often overlooked. The development of an appropriate package allows us to protect and form a batch in the most economical way, which can reduce the costs of our customers. A good design and a correctly chosen profile size allows the formation of coils or pallets with long profiles to reduce the proportion of unused profile (scraps) and, consequently, reduce transportation costs. A well-thought cardboard box allows for easier handling of packaging during transportation. Technologies

 

Polinter owns various extrusion and related technologies.

 

a) Finishing of the surface. Polinter uses various types of additional materials (impurities) and additional (finish) processing to produce a glossy, matte or rough surface

b) Dispersion of light. Various solutions in the field of materials and their various modifications allow to diffuse the LED light in accordance with the requirements of the customer. Depending on other requirements (chemical, combustibility, price), dissipative PMMA, PC, ABS, PVC, PS can be used.

c) Color and temperature of light. When using different combinations of materials and impurities, we can give the desired color to the light profiles to match the desired tone.

d) Joint extrusion of various materials. Using this technology, you can make unique profiles. And, although this technology is more expensive, it is possible that the final cost of the profile will prove to be competitive. We can combine different materials, different colors and different rigidity. All materials used in this technology must be compatible in terms of the welded joint between them. Using this technology, Polinter can provide such properties of profiles as different light permeability in directions, moisture resistance, thermal conductivity, rigidity.

e) Microprism. Quite a new technology allows us to "break" the LED light without having to have light-scattering additives in the profile paint, without the loss of light. The technology is applicable to flat PC and PMMA receivers.

f) Fiberglass reinforced profile: this is a new technology that allows the production of profiles with very high rigidity. It provides the manufacture of very rigid profiles of any shape, color from ordinary materials. This technology is used where high rigidity is required, but there is no possibility to use metallic materials.
